Why don't we get actual, substantial spin-offs or expansion games anymore? Even if you exclude battle and storage games, there were so many different kinds that were just left to rot.
I hear a lot that Game Freak was afraid people would like another Genius Sonority RPG better than theirs, and that's probably true, but why get rid of all these diverse, genuinely fun games? It's not like they can flop with Pokemon branding.
Today all we get is F2P mobile junk like GO, which I admittedly enjoy, and gatchashit that only extreme autists and casual nips care for, and there's still Mystery Dungeon but it's kind of run it's course and the last release was just a remake. Super Mystery Dungeon was already 5 years ago.
I understand that microtransactions are profitable, but I doubt I am alone in saying I'd pay full price for something new and fresh, or at least different like a new Panel de Pon or something. Not a F2P sequel that's been made poorly.
