>>43696581>The game is rare and expensive. Remastering it would make it less rare and less expensiveI mean, sure, but anybody who wants to actively play Sky in 2020 very likely will know about emulators or alternative methods.
>I fail to see how its scummySky just is not old enough and the game design and gameplay have not changed significantly if really even at all to warrant an update. If you buy a remake made in 2021 and it follows the same philosophy as DX you're essentially just paying 60 bucks to replay Sky again, that's just not a justifiable purchase.
An anon earlier brought up RE2make, and also I guess I can raise FF7 remake as good examples of games that should have been remade or are good, new experiences in spite of the fact they're remakes. The originals were very old games with very dated graphics that were made under an extremely different viewpoint than their remakes, the sprite work in Sky is not so outdated that it needs to be replaced with the 3D style the games are using now and the gameplay will also be barely different if DX is any indication.
Bad remakes, like the kind Pokemon is so accustomed to, just breed low standards and encourages less for more. Hell you can see how that applied to the main games.
I'm glad at the least you would prefer a new game more than a remake.
