The switch had multiple games that drove me to get it. Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros Ultimate, Astral Chain, portable Dark Souls, Link's Awakening, Animal Crossing. Pokemon was pretty inconsequential in my decision to get it. Especially with how mediocre the Pokemon games on Switch are.

I bought it for Zelda because that game actually delivered on its promises, also Mario Odyssey because 3D Mario games are some of my favourites, Pokemon was supposed to be a nice bonus but two games in and I can’t bring myself to buy them

When SwSh came out I bought 2 Nintendo Switches and both of the games. My girlfriend and I both wanted to play the new Pokemon games, and since having our Switches we've gotten some other games for them too. Feels good not being poor.

The only thing I like from Nintendo is Pokemon. I was going to buy a switch just for Pokemon but LGPE is not a core Pokemon game and SwSh doesn't have all the pokemon.
