I’d say I have the needed experience and knowledge to raise and care for more than one Pokemon. Could see myself starting small with something like a Fennekin, as I do live somewhere that it could be a native to.
After an obsessively careful phase of pampering and worrying about every little thing with my new partner, I’d ease up once it evolves into a Braixen and give it some autonomy, perhaps open up to the idea of getting another Pokémon. Not sure if I’d go with a Stunky or a Nidoran, one of my irl cats would totally be a Skuntank as it has the mannerism and quirks of one, but the Nidoran line could easily be a native to my region as well, being a Ground type and all, but evolving it into a Nidoking/Nidoqueen would require me to import moon stones from Kanto, which I’d imagine to be quite expensive, so a Stunky it is.
Once enough time and experience passes so my Braixen evolves into a Delphox, and my Stunky into a Skuntank, I’d go for a third type of pokemon (like I already have with my pets irl), something a bit more exotic, but I’d like to start small with it. Perhaps a Jangmo-o? The area around me used to have sizeable rocky cliffs that have been worked through for highway construction and connect with the rest of the city. There would be a lot of rock type Pokémon in here, but cacti aren’t native to my region, and while I am in a coastal city, my area is still quite a distance away, so no grass or water Pokémon would thrive here. Only thing that can survive the heat and assaults from Rock pokemon would be a Fighting/Dragon, so the Jangmo-o line seems to be the best fit.
I might consider a Water/Flying later. Plenty of cormorants migrate through here, and some of the juvenile ones roost and live here for a while before they leave, so maaaaybe I could get myself a low-level Cramorant on my own?
In the end, this is what I’d have after about three-to-five years of Pokémon ownership.
