why are all the middle stages in kanto so based? i used to hate mons like weepinbell or wartortle but now i like them and their designs more than their final evos.

Most recent Pokemon I grew to like is Ninjask. I didn't give it a second thought, and when I caught a Nincada in an Emerald Nuzlocke, I thought it wouldn't last for two gyms. It has taken for Ninjask to learn a good move too, but once it did, I was surprised by how great it is. It defeated the Champion too.
I liked Shedinja before, and I love cicadas in general, so I am fairly fond of the whole evolutionary line now

I thought it was a bad lazy design for just being 3 magnemite. Now it's one of my favorite pokemon. Still hate dugtrio though.

When gen 4 first came out I hated this guy because I was a Flygonfag in gen 3 and I was extremely butthurt that Garchomp showed up with the same type and did everything better. But once I got over that I realized his design is actually pretty cool and I like that he's probably the easiest pseudo legend to have on your team for the story mode. You can catch Gible pretty early in Platinum, and the Gible/Gabite stage is more usable than most unevolved pseudos since they evolve relatively quickly and play like a smaller Garchomp. Lots of the other pseudos have different typings or stat distributions in their unevolved stages
