You ever try to make your own maps? If so, post'em, if not make one. I think this tool is only good for random routes, but if anyone has a better tool to make more things post that too. Let's see if /vp/ can make a non shit region by putting it all together.

i'm trying to do a romhack and i'm pretty shit at mapmaking (only made like 4-5 maps so far), this is the second route i made

The bridge is strange. It's seen directly from the above. pokemon games don't do that.

Do you plan to put the number of each road in the grass? It's stupid but I like it.

If the maker tool gives you a bird's eye view, there's not much that yo ucan do about the perspective, is there?

You don't necessarily have to make it shorter altogether, but maybe make it turn a little bit to use the space a little more effectively. At the end you could make it do an L turn upwards, so that the player would be able to see a little bit of the upper half of the map and know that there's something else to explore in there.

There's a very dusty valley in my town. Perfect place to set a desert. Ground type gym is next to it obviously.

I think you’ve overdone the map by repeating to much. There also appears to be no real point in exploring North. I think you might benefit from making the left more mountainous, particularly at the bridge. But by surfing North you get an easier to scale less effort side. Also don’t forgot to put a house or 2 in on the mountains to break up the pattern. But overall it’s a nice job. Just please get rid of that number 2 in the grass

Thank you. It took me months but my whole region is done. The game is playable even if there are a lot of things that don't work. I don't know why so many moves and abilities don't work.
There are 19 gyms, one for each type. (yes, I created a Sound type. when I saw that I could create a type, Sound was the most logical to me. I know it was not a good idea)
I'm pretty proud of myself though.

Continuing with that thought, I think a mountain would do good. A flat land that is separated by water leading to a vast array of mountains, only held together by a small bridge. Hold on, the idea for the surf thing isn’t logical as you would just clear a few trees and build a bridge on the flatter area. It would be sense that instead you had steep cliffs at the bridge and by surfing (there shouldn’t be a bridge here) to the left side you run into a cave. Thus it makes sense why someone would build a bridge and not clear trees. The hills you have are just out of place. But it’s pretty good for your second build

I feel like you can utilize the space a little better. You can definitely, say, keep the road going on the top-left part and instead of just having a bunch of trees you could make it a little pocket with tall grass and a secret base tree/bush/cave. Slap on something interesting in there as well like a berry mud patch, a couple scattered items or even a double battle and that'll definitely elevate the exploration potential.

Another thing that could probably benefit the very upper area is just a little more color. How about a fishing dock on the top right? Could have a fisherman or just an item sitting there.

That grass seems a little green, perhaps you should throw in a shade or 2 of brown. Also, you might want to remove the grass and exchange it for berries and other things. With this, you might want a road or even a landing strip so it makes more sense how people survive. I’d then say you might want to build a mine. Then everything makes sense

Actually, the game takes place in my hometown. A little village in Basque country with 300 inhabitants.
So there is a town center with big buildings, a school and a cemetery.
The rest of the "region" is roads with houses here and there like irl. Some of these houses are the gyms.

This needs more tiles like bridges and buildings and maybe an expanded tileset for bare dirt paths that arent just sand. Otherwise this can be a nifty tool for romhackers to dick around with.

He'res my idea of a route 1. It's right near some ritzy suburb, which explains the fencing. The signs are trainers, and the different grass up top is Doubles Grass with much stronger pokemon.
