If you REALLY want a different gender for this event, just make another switch profile and start a new game. As soon as you get to the first pokemon centre you can get the mystery gift again, it doesn't require switch online, and you can move it into your other game if you have Pokemon Home. I did it to get a few Cherish Ball Mr. Mimes.

There will definitely be events after the DLC releases but I don't think it's anything like Galarian forms, probably the new added old Pokemon in raid battles with valuable rewards.
