So when there was no general for a bit, I scrolled this board for the first time in awhile. Jesus I forgot how many people here got their wires crossed growing up and developed really specific pokemon fetishes. I like some of the non-pornographic cute art though.

Anyway the tour de Kanto was done mostly by the Richard/Sun duo. Desmond/Penny got Blaine and Erika though. I actually have no intention of ever using Juliet again. There were some close calls with her before and I am happy to say I made her a league champion. The only two real fights left are Blue and Red. Between the 2 fighting couples left, I figure I will use one team for each as their capstones. Depends on who I think can beat Red easier.
Weekends i have tons of time to grind so hopefully I can fight Red and wrap up Gen 4 soon! I'm excited for Gen 5 because I have never played any of them.

Gameplay is the same as Black&White since it uses Roms. Basically, it features:

It's a glorified single player adventure with players slapped in it, get yourself a good guild to chat/battle and you're set. Nuzlocking it is a pain in the ass since level are limited by your gym badges so you can't use your bros to decimate other regions

Nice little picture at the base of Mt. Silver of the wedded couples before my final grind for Red ever.
I decided Desmond the Xatu and Penny the Quagsire should take on Blue and then retire like Ben the Mamoswine and Juliet the Corsola have. Blue was surprisingly easy now that Desmond finally learned Psychic at lvl 59. I made a clutch call and used Penny against his Machamp at first. Sure enough, he knew Stone Edge. That would have been bad. She yawned it to sleep and then Desmond switched in for the kill. The rest were simple. His Pidgeot was last and used whirlwind so Richard came out. For those who don't know: the creator of the wedlocke says in those situations you must then fight using the new pair since the point of things like Roar/Whirlwind is that they disrupt your fighters and now you have to win with your new pair. But Richard was able to finish it off easily enough.

So Richard and Sun are the chosen ones to take on Red. Seemed most appropriate for the starter pokemon to go coast-to-coast. Though Penny would be great for his Pikachu (the one that always scares me most) I think over all R/S are a better pairing fir that fight. His Venusaur might be trouble though. I have about 5 hours right now of being isolated with just my phone and nothing to do. So hopefully these 2 can get trained up and I can finish this tomorrow!

Despite this being a pretty length segment, alot of it was just wandering around the desert, getting encounters and important items, and I had a couple unfortunate deaths in there, so not really worth writing every little thing.
The gym was an absolute cakewalk, the terrain boosts the already broken Aegislash, combined with it facing an AI that only attacks, allowed me to make any opposition useless with a buffed king's shield (-2 stages of both Attack and SpA), and set up to +5 on turn one with a buffed sword's dance. (not even to mention stance change respectively increases or decreases attack or defense by 1 stage, depending on which stance you're in)
I'll probably return the team to what it was last time, with a few adjustments now that I've lost Sergeant the Swampert, so I'm debating between using Calamity the Gyarados (pros being that she has intimidate and is a great mon, cons being added electric weakness) or the Horsea I have in the box (pros being only 2 fairly uncommon weaknesses, con being that it doesn't have intimidate).
I now have the option to take on the mega z-ring sidequest, but there's some really hard battles including a double battle against two teams of six, right into a hard single battle, with no healing in between, so I'm hesitant to start it, but my strategy for the next gym is dependent on a z-move, so we'll see.
I might also have to start removing some of the dead mons to free up space on the template.

Okay, I FINALLY got the Nuzlocke Generator to work. I have no clue what the issue was, but I kept trying shit, and something worked. Too much to type it all out. I can finally update.
I had no real trouble with the Rocket Hideout and the Pokémon Tower. The Erika fight went really smoothly as well.
I took out her Victreebel with 2 Ice Beams from Auphaph the Nidoqueen.
I took out her Tangela with 2 Flys from Baifibakhd the Pidgeotto.
And her Vileplume went down with 3 Embers from Ski the Charmeleon.
Also, I don't remember every moved she used, but I remember that she missed all but one attack. It was really weird and funny.
This Nuzlocke is going super well compared to Red and Green.
To all you /nuz/bros in American metropolises, stay safe.

Somehow forgot he both leads with it, and that it was level 17, yowch.
McFowl ends up saving my bacon by burning it on the first Ember(I have the devil's own luck this Nuzlocke it seems) as it uses Focus Energy.
Scyther fires off a Quick Attack as mcFowl sets up Sunny Day, Sitrus berry activates on Scyther.
Another Quick Attack puts McFowl into dangerous territory, as Ember puts Scyther close to death(but not enough for a burn to finish it off)
Matilda comes in... on a Quick Attack Crit.
Scyther gets healed by Bugsy, and Fake Out does some damage.
Anothr Quick Attack is met with Rock Tomb. Scyther lives, but Burn takes it out.

Rock Tomb misses twice, third hits, but I didn't refill my PP before the fight, so I have to finish it off with Bite. Metapod keeps tackling Matilda who eventually nears the red.

I send Jill in on a Poison Sting
Rage uses the Poison Sting to build in power turn by turn, and the Cocoon falls after a few rounds.

well koga was actually easy despite the level jump, Trips just drill pecked everything. the actual challenge was going to be sabrina with a level 50 alakazam, so i defeated every trainer i could before taking her on: silph co. (where Capoeira made it two fights before getting blown up. rip), all the water routes, pokemon mansion, and all the trainers in saffron and cinnabar gyms. training that much allowed bishop to defeat alakazam with some paralysis luck. blaine, giovanni, and blue were pushovers. gonna push through victory road and see if i can catch moltres lol. if not i'll probably bring Big Boi onto the team.

Beat Winona. Pretty easy with Loonie, thanks to Levitate.
I'm also no longer writing descriptions about the Pokemon. Honestly the new rule I added really screwed with the team dynamic. Instead of one team I keep through the whole game I have a revolving cast of characters. Not that that's bad, but it's a bit harder to get attached.

I am able to trade, but I only allow myself to do so if I have the required item. That means no Steelix until Kanto, unless I get lucky and steal a Metal Coat from a Magnemite.
As a side note, I picked up a Lv4 female Heracross on Route 33, and I suspect she will make a glorious addition to the team.

One gym left in the current update, I only lost 3 mons, but they were probably the best ones on paper, but if I've learned anything playing this, it's never the ones you expect to be good that carry you.
Coming up are probably the hardest battles in the game, I at least have a team planned out for the hellish double battle gauntlet, and I think if I can get past that I should be in the clear to the end of the episode.
If someone wants to pick my starter for Rejuvenation I'd appreciate it, same deal as Reborn, all starters gens 1-7 are on the table.
I'm hoping to finish this by tonight, but it depends on how much of my team I lose.

Okay, it got bad. It got real bad.
That first trainer in the Fuchsia gym just fucked me up hard.
I started with Ski the Charmeleon, and a normal Confusion took nearly 70% of his HP.
I decided to switch over to Wimfesaxe the Butterfree. A critical Psychic killed her in one hit. Afterwards, I decided to switch over to Baifibakhd the Pigeotto. I managed to get a critical Double-Edge, but another critical Psychic finished him off. Afterwards, I was panicking, but I spent a few minutes thinking about the best course of action. I decided that I would switch over to Amco the Gyarados. I hit him with Dragon Rage, thinking it would kill him for sure, but it left him with the slightest sliver. I nearly had a heart attack. Fortunately he used Headbutt. I finished him off.
RIP Wimfesaxe the Butterfree.
RIP Baifibakhd the Pidgeotto.

They don't show up in the Walker outside one special event route: Amity Meadow.This route was never released in the west, only Japan.
There were a number of Special Courses that I have the means to unlock. I will probably allow myself to use only one of those: Winner's Path.
I'm disqualifying the use of Night Sky's Edge(you need to transfer a Jirachi onto your file to unlock it the legitimate way) and Beyond the Sea(you needed to trade a foreign mon from the GTS into your current run) from my run. Since both involve having pokemon not part of the Nuzlocke, I don't feel they are okay.
Amity Meadow is also a no-go since it never released over here, as is Sightseeing and Rally. That only leaves Winner's Path, which I'll allow once I reach Kanto.

You need all the Kanto Badges, so Magmortar and Electivire are essentially Red only. At least both Magmar and Electabuzz are good mons on their own.

I absolutely HATE the grind for Red. Only thing comparable to me is the Hoeen 8th badge/Elite 4 gap. I have been occupied and did not grind for hours straight yesterday like planned. Bit even so, though I'm only grind 2 pokemon up, they are just at lvl 68. Red's shit is all in the 80s.
Gonna start doing pushups and other shit for each additional level. Really feel the physical and mental burn.

caught Nadja the zubat in ilex forest. because i'm playing no dupes, i decided to release my zubat from dark cave to make up for it (not that i would have used it anyway). hate to bench Drieberg, but I don't want to potentially retire two flyers. he'll serve as a good backup.
whiteny's miltank took some strategy. Edwin set up a reflect and then took down clefairy. Bo Peep got a thunder wave off, and then Jeepers came in with a curse. miltank was too bogged down to do much, and Bo Peep finished her off.

the grind for red is brutal. if you can manipulate your time/day (and that isn't against your rules), there are some trainers that offer a lot of exp that you can face over and over. i've been able to take down red with my team in the low-mid 70s before. good luck dawg

Well, the next post will be the last one for Reborn for a while, win or lose.
I already have my team planned out for the next gym and area, I just didn't want to throw them on the template just to stress the fact that I made it through the last area with only a Klefki.
I've come to the realization that what I have in the box is all I have left when it comes to encounters, since all pokemon (except UBs and legends) are available as of the current release, so unless I'm surprised by the next release, what I've got in the box is what I'm left to work with. (2 boxes of good mons why am I complaining)

Quick update: We've subbed Miko off the team for now since we've got Shou for Light and Benben covering sound. In her stead is the newly caught Tokiko, the book-loving yokai! The pokedex says she can't read but likes them anyways. What a trooper! That's exactly the type of spirit we want on this squad.

We also caught Luna in the Forest of Magic. She's a Light/Wind type so she'll stay in the box for now.

Currently we're travelling through the forest of magic to deliver a parcel to Alice in exchange for our bicycle.

I'm back after a little break; ended up choosing my Kabuto (Shelly) to take up the last slot on the team and spent the last couple days grinding everyone up. Now I think we're about ready to take on the Elite Four and Gary. Planning on each encounter to break down like this; Jolter has got most of Lorelei's team, with Shelly provide rock support. Seeder, Surfer, Birdy, and Stringer will be going head to head with Bruno's boys. I think Stringer's got Agatha fully covered, but we'll see. Surfer's on Dragon-duty with Ice spam, while Jolter and Shelly will be on hand to clear out Lance's not-dragons.

After delivering the parcel to the Forest of Magic we learned that the next Youma book aka Gym Badge is in Scarlet Devil Mansion. Unfortunately the way is blocked by cut trees. If we want to get there we'll have to travel to the bamboo forest of Eientei and borrow their Woodcutter Doll.

Upon arriving we found ourselves in the middle of a fight between the priestess of Eientei Kaguya and her hotheaded friend Mokou. We challenge Mokou to a boss fight and she was pretty damn tough. We even lost our poor Tokiko in the process.

With the Woodcutter Doll in hand we can now make our way to the mansion. First though we have to fill up the empty party slot. I'm thinking Elly or Udonge but I'm open to suggestions.

Drayano's hacks are in general quite difficult. Fire Red Evolution is nigh-impossible to nuzlocke, if not actually impossible without ludicrous amounts of grinding and overleveling. (it's also a little buggy but nothing you can't avoid)

Wasn't easy, and there were plenty of moments where RNG was not on my side. But we somehow managed to pull it off.

Lorelei wasn't too much trouble; Jolter breezed through most of her team. However, the first hitch came when I went to swap in Shelly and he got put to sleep by her Jynx. Had to throw in Surfer to buffet her attacks while whittling her health down. Surf and Seeder had Bruno's Onixes covered, and Seeder even put his Hitmonchan to sleep, leaving it to Birdy to sweep it and the remainder of his team. Agatha was actually pretty tough. Her first Gengar kept increasing evasion with Double Team, making it hard for Stringer to land a hit on it. Eventually had to swap her out Jolter first to deal with Golbat, and then Seeder Earthquake'd her Arbok. After that it was a series of trading sleep status back-and-forth with the remainder of her ghosts. Lance actually went pretty well with Jolter zapping his starting Gyarados, and Surfer on dragon control. Even his Aerodactyl gave us no trouble with Shelly to soak up its hits and counter with a Rock Slide.

It really depends on what rules you use, I find. If you try to enforce the "on par with gym leaders ace in level", I find it to be fairly tough(really tough if you ban dynamaxes), but it is kinda a challenge in its own right to stay that low (I actually used remote boxes specifically to switch out mons that risked becoming overleveled).
It's no Ultra Sun/Moon, BW2 or Platinum, but it is no breeze either.

The final match with Gary of course was a nail biter. Jolter lead off against Pidgeot and took it out, nothing unusual there. Then had to swap out when he brought in Rhydon. Surfer switched into an Earthquake that left some damage, but nothing serious, so she countered back with Surf. Exeggutor was sent out in response, and I goofed when I sent Stringer into a waiting Sleep Powder. Had to waste a turn waking her up while she got pelted with an Egg Bomb, but she put it to sleep right back. Two Silver Winds and it was done.

Then came Charizard. And figuring correctly that there wasn't any chance Stringer could outspeed it enough to get off Sleep Powder, I was forced to recall her for Shelly. Thought at first I was sending him out to die, but he surprised me when he took two Fire Blasts like a champ, burying Gary's starter alive with rocks. Then came the second match-up I was also dreading, that Alakazam.

I don't think I handled this match up well. Despite the fact everyone made it out in the end, I kind of kept swapping between party members as I was scrambling to try and dish out attacks or keeping my guys healthy with between turns. I was sure I was going to have to let someone take a fall in order to send someone else in fresh to the fight. With little recourse, I relented as I ordered Jolter to attempt to make an attack, thinking surely he would never-

Oh. Oh wait. He went first.

So Alakazam down. Gyarados down.

I still can't believe how that all worked out.

Honestly if you want a challenging game just play some SHF kaizo game, blue kaizo, crystal kaizo, or emerald kaizo. If you are going to level cap then emerald kaizo is balls the walls hard and you are basically going to need to be a god and lucky to beat it. If you ban items then blue kaizo, and crystal kaizo are pretty much impossible (EK doesn't let you use items in the first place.)

I finally beat Pokemon White, my first ever Nuzlocke! I enjoyed being terrified at every fucking encounter, althought the ending got a bit grindy (althought that was probably my own fault, I wanted to be really sure I could beat N and Ghetsis without Zekrom)

I wanted to break up the grinding so I went and did the Suicune encounter just for kicks.
Got it to 4 health and paralyzed. Still took 36 ultra balls, 5 quick balls, a great ball, and about 20+ pokeballs before I caught it in the pokeball. How the fuck is any one ever supposed to get the other 2 if this is what it takes to get the fixed encounter? Master ball only snags one of them.

Yeah, it's a mistake, but the other way around, it's a female Heracross and I accidentally used the male color marker.
As a side note, I'm trying to decide on which six mons to focus on for now. Daycare means I can keep the one (or two) I drop somewhat leveled as well. Magby and Elekid are staying, Heracross is obviously staying, Dratini feels like a neat eventual powerhouse that I have to work towards, Onix(soon Steelix) is excellent as a defensive bulwark, and I really want to use Dunsparce.
I'm kinda leaning towards having Kangaskhan dropped off at the Daycare after Morty.

Fair points. Also, while the chance is low, leaving Kangaskhan behind for now gives me the potential to have it in Alola (or the PikaVee games assuming I end up having them as part of this whole thing).
It's also a really neat reserve to have should one of my main squad bite the dust.

Well, it's over, for now.
Thought it'd be fun to throw a couple of stats from the runs together, so that's in the second link.
I still have a bit more stuff to do, get a few tms and mega stones, and a Torchic and Chimchar, but that's about it.
This has been quite the ride, might start Rejuvenation or Insurgence tomorrow, might not, if anyone has any games that are fun to randomize, that'd be a nice distraction for a bit.

Gen 4 is finally over with this climactic Wedlocke finale!

Nervous about taking on Red with just 2 pokemon so I actually grinded Richard and Sun up to the lv 80 mark. Actually slightly overshot it because I was using the Elite 4 rematches to do the last bit. Funny thing actually happened the first time I went through. Lance's last pokemon was his Altaria. Then he cast Perish song?

Red was pretty straight forward because I had hit 80

Sun just did a discharge, tanked a Blizzard, then a second discharge drives Red off the mountain!

This nuzlocke challenge was my first time playing any of these Gen 4 games and they were definitely my favorites so far (Grinding for red aside). The quality level of just everything is raised overall and of course the physical/special split is amazing. Platinum felt like the level scaling was on point and I really like the whole Team Galactic section of the game. Maybe it is just the climbing the mountain towards the Spear Pillar confrontation but I felt like I was in more of an action/adventure game in those sections. HGSS is pure soul, nothing more to say.

Onwards to Gen 5! I have absolutely no experience with BW/B2W2. The only thing I know(?) is that I heard that BW has no pre-gen 5 pokemon? Which just sounds like a welcome relief after the small poke-pool I had to work with for the last couple games.

Bianca got an immediate crit in the 1st battle so her Tepig knocked out my Oshawatt. Now I operate under "game does not start till you get pokeballs" rule since that 1st fight is just a coin flip and there seems little point in resetting cause you wiped 2 minutes into the game. This is SOP in nuzlockes from what I've always seen but if any one feels different let me know. In the meantime gonna act like Bianca just beat him down to within an inch of his life before Cheren stepped in to heal. Seems to fit her personality from what I've seen so far. Marshtomp died because I was being a retard. I was fighting an Ace Trainer and wanted to switch into something but it didn't have great health, so I healed. Normally Shiftry doesn't have grass attacks because they're not in the learnset but I got blindsided by a Giga Drain, instantly killing Marshtomp. Really sucks, Swampert is my favorite starter. There are more than enough water types in Hoenn to replace it though.
Tate and Liza were way easier than expected, as my new Wailord just wrecked the team with Water Spout while Arman finished things with Iron Tail.

I know most people would probably say it's up to you to make the decision, but I was just wondering what the consensus is on split up areas that are considered one place by the map.

Basically, I'm doing a platinum nuzlocke and I'm just about to get to solaceon town. Obviously I want to get something in route 210 but there's also the foggy part after badge 5, would it be considered fair game to get another mon there since it is kind of like a new area? another two badges won. whitney was easier than expected because the level cap was 20 (not 19 like i'm used to in HGSS). this allowed THREE of my team to evolve. Bubbles tanked all of miltank's rollouts and used dig to slow its roll. it only used stomp once and by then it was all over ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. morty went down without much fight, again thanks to Bubbles and dig.

Decided that since Rejuvenation is getting a big update sometime sooner, I might as well save it for then, so I decided to try Ren Plat in the meantime.
I might be getting a little burnt out on nuzlockes so my updates might be a little inconsistent.
The run through the first gym was rather uneventful, aside from an Anorith at the gym killing my shiny Luxio, my team steam rolled everything else.

I'd like to start a nutzlocke challenge on one of these pokemon games for the first time: Emerald, FireRed, HGSS (standard version, not hacked). These are the rules I've come up with (some of these rules should be standard nutzlocke rules):
>fainted pokemons can no longer be used and are put into a Box called Graveyard
>only the frst encounter in each area can be caught (if it's the ame pokemon, only the first different encounter can be caught)
>legendaries are forbidden
>same amount of pokemon s as the opponent in big fights (rival and gym leaders)

>use of items outside battles is also forbidden, only exceptions being HM and evolutionary stones
>gift/traded pokemons are forbidden

Just picked up my 6th pokemon! I am a big fan of all these designs so far. Accidentally fainted my route 3 encounter, it was a zebra. Now usually when I enter a new region I get smacked around pretty badly because I'm unfamiliar with the area. As a result I am moving extra cautiously through the game so far. I am a little concerned for my purrloin (love the name btw) because he seems to have a bit of a glass jaw.
My impressions of the game so far, I am really liking it. I actually really liked how the 1st gym was set up as a type tutorial. I fought that N guy a second time and am seeing what that one anon meant by having 0 rivals but also 3. Probably my favorite thing is just how vibrant the world seems. Leaves blowing in the wind as you walk around, the pokemon shifting around during battle but even in the pokemon menu. I like the characters so far, the evil team (cult under Ghetsis?) is intriguing to me, etc.

I think banning item use outside of battle tends to be silly because all it means is that you're rushing to the center every couple of minutes. i think banning items outside of battle for the elite four is the only place where it really makes sense.

Wallace was pretty easy though, just had to let Loonie get beat around long enough to get off a Hypnosis and then have Edison set up Tail Glows. He one-shot everyone but the Milotic, but the damage was still pretty impressive.
On the way to the league now and I still have a shit ton of grinding to do. Steven's Metagross is really scary to me and I don't have a hard counter too, best I can do is spend even more time for a Flygon.

Somehow Mina's trial only took Sand Force! Glad I've got a decent team. Who, aside from Cha, will need a bit of training before Mina. Current plan is to keep Sturdy for Mina only, then I switch it out. But I'm blanking on who to switch her for.

I did a FireRed run a while back, finishing it and not having a single death throughout the run. I got close during the elite four but was able to just sort of plow my way through it. Pic related was my final team. I am looking to do HGSS next.

This was using fairly strict rules, but now I am looking to try and make it a bit more strict to give myself a proper level of difficulty and actual possible walls. My ideas are:
>can only bring the same number of pokemon to the next major battle (gym or rival)
>the pokemon for a major battle can be up to the level of my opponent
>no in battle item usage

This was the same rules I used for Fire Red, but the game was easy. Is HGSS naturally more difficult and so doesn't need further rules or should I add more? I tried doing platinum with single use pokemon centers and no item usage, and just barely got to Flint on my best run, which was more tedious than anything because of super limited PP.

I belive I've made a mistake for my first ever Nuzlocke Run. Eccentric Emerald is nuts. I whited out before May, and then at May three times.

After my fifth try, things seem to be going much smoother. I may have overleveled a little bit for Roxanne, but I'm pretty confident going forward considering my rough start.

I'm hoping Tig' Ol will carry me for a long while, super excited to try out Nidoqueen. Otherwise only the difficulty of this ROMhack is the biggest change for me so far.

Lost some mons but back up to a full team of 6 after the 3rd badge! I am really liking this gen so far. The world is so alive! I am enjoying the characters, the enemy team is intriguing, I haven't seen a pokemon design I have not liked yet. Except for my new Perona. Her face seems a little squished. But even that's not really bad.

So the 2nd gym's herdier fucked me up and took out my pigeon and kitty. Lost the swaddled one in the forest to a trainer. I don't know if I'm missing encounters or its just that routes are geographically large but I have no reserves as I prepare for the 4th gym. My type coverages leave something to be desired as I not only have double psychic going on, I have double fire! A Sharpedo could practically sweep me. Though I don't think any exist here.

Yeah I'm doing it blind. The only research I do is checking the levels of the next gym leader's ace so I do not over level. So for example, I see the fourth leader goes up to lvl 27, so I had better not grind up Ace too much. But as of right now I do not know what the 5th leader's level cap is. I will check that after I'm through the next gym.

Good fucking god this game is relentless. Nothing makes sense, nearly every death has been to a random trainer while Leaders/Team Leaders have been a breeze. I just received the 8th badge, and am heading into Victory Road. I am terrified.

I've accidentally wasted a lot of potential catches, but I still have Victory Road and Shoal Cave. Really hoping to catch a Swinub (I think that's available in this hack, maybe even base game) otherwise I'll have to find Ice Beam or some other answer for Drake.

DX-12 is a fucking nuke with Tbolt. Tig 'Ol can tank anything, especially with Intimidate support from Bo. Those three are a core that I cannot afford to lose. All others are newcomers, and if push comes to shove they'll take a dive for one of them. Except Scout, I will protect her at all costs.

Wish me luck. Eccentric Emerald might be the wildest Pokemon hack I've ever played.

If you ever play Eccentric Emerald, just skip the Winstrate House. For your own good. The Macho Brace is not worth it. I promise.

Tried Emerald as my first Nuzlocke but blacked out at Wattson. Clementine the Combusken got paralized twice from Voltorb's two Sparks and got hit with two critical hit Shock Waves which was quite unlucky and left me with no answer to his Magneton which proceeded to wipe the rest of my team.
Going to start my second Nuzlocke and hopefully my first successful one but taking a break from Emerald for now, anyone has any suggestion for my next game? Open to any game just can't decide which.
I stole the template from two other anons that were using it for the past threads but it's my first time posting, I'll try to write the progress on my next one as it is quite fun to read what everyone else posts.

As I thought, Cyrus was a pain.
Colonia kills Houndoom easily, but she gets massive damage from Dark Pulse. Honchkrow is halfway against Lyuba, but I forgot he has HEAT WAVE of all moves an my girl dies. Maestro proves to be the revenge killer we need, taking down the damn bird, but he's killed by Crobat later. Semola finishes the bat (also thanks to the hail summoned by Maestro), but gets confused and I'm not risking him against the earthquaking Gyarados...so Launchpad comes in and. also thanks to his Yache Berry, tames the beast splendidly. Weavile tho...he can't do it and he gets overwhelmed by his ice moves. But this opens the field for Lavagirl, who incinerates Weavile giving us the win!
Giratina is killed by Colonia and Lavagirl, but we have to mourn the loss of three great team members. I train up their substitutes, (Fabergé, Doubt and Netscape), and we face Volkner, an easy battle thanks to Colonia.
Now onto the League!

Went to face Pryce, actually forgot that he has better levels compared to GSC.
Either way, Gerardo, one of his Gym Trainers, actually helped me out by putting down one layer of Toxic Spikes with Cloyster. This means that I could enter battle vs Pryce with a Heracross wearing a Black Belt and with Guts already active.

And that's a wrap! This is definitely a nuzlocke to remember, especially because I really felt it catpured the spirit of a nuzlocke. I never used Lunatone, Gorebyss, or Volbeat, and those turned out to be some of the best members of my team (Volbeat especially). Sure I had to go out of my way for Gorebyss but that was worth it too. Also I didn't give Loonie proper credit yet for wrecking Drake's team (with Perl's help of course). That said this run also took quite a bit longer than my other ones because my new rule forced me to adopt a different play style. In fact, Silver and Crystal were quicker even with the grind for Red. I like having a consistent team of six throughout the entire game but there's plenty of merit to having a larger, rotating cast.
Next game is Fire Red, and I'm adding the Dupes Clause because fuck Kanto.

I walked in, forgot about Wally, and immediately lost Yggdrasil aha.

After a huge grind to Lv.60, I am the champion.

Sydney was fairly easy between Bo and Tig 'Ol
Phoebe was solo'd by Shank
Glacia was the easiest, everybody but Tig 'Ol chipped in
Drake nearly killed Tig 'Ol but Poison Point plus Sandra's Protect became the clear strat
Wallace was nearly solo'd by DX-12

I think I'm pretty much hooked on nuzlockes now, I'll probably do BlazeBlack 2 next.

I'm super serious about the Winstrate house. She had a fucking Kangaskhan.

As expected On First played the part of Rei and all of the pokemon he was up against played the parts of the hapless bandits, thugs, and mutants he chopped up. Eldegoss was a close call though so they're more like that guy who threw those glass balls filled with poison in that one episode.

He even evolved after finishing up the tough fight so it's even more like my Japanese anime.

Elesa went bad. Elesa went very bad. It probably is the easiest gym ever if you have a ground type but I didn't so those speedy little Emolgas just massacred me with none stop Volt Switches until Inuarashi was able to pick them off. Without his Crunch I'm sure I would have been swept.

Coming off the bench is Carrot who is the cutiest thing ever and yet does not have cute charm. The technician ability seems interesting. Maybe Swift is viable for once? So I started training her on route 16 and then I found a path into the Lostlorn Forest where I got Leo. This makes me wonder if there are other encounters I have missed because I did not see a path. But probably will not backtrack for now. Next gym leader level cap is 31 so I think I will grind the team up to about 28,29 each before I head west cause it sounds like the next gym is just right over the bridge. Need to find a sixth team member too.

Welcome to the journey. Losing Maroon is rough, it can practically solo the region. But lots of Kanto pokemon can. If I could make just one suggestion though, don't use the Gyarados till post-physical/special split. The later gens get much harder and It can be a god send.

All complete. E4 was fine in the beginning until I got to Lucian (the literal most forgettable member of any E4 because he's basically a longer-hair Will. Kaiba the Gallade fell in a duel against his Gallade.

As for Cynthia, she wiped out everyone except for Justine the Garchomp when she had 3 of her Pokemon left. Justine then wiped them out with singular Dragon Claws.

Up next, Soul Silver (or Storm Silver if I can find one that's already patched? If anyone can provide, I'd appreciate it). That is, after I rest for a bit.

Gyarados also benefits from the level cap system most Nuzlockes use because it is very strong when on par in level, but levels slowly. Since noone takes experience curves into account, Gyarados gets to be L50 same as say, Grumpig, despite having enough accumulated the same amount of Exp that would put Grumpig at L58.
Keeping track of Experience Curves seems like a complicated mess during a Nuzlocke though.

Wow this is even harder. Currently grinding before I even think about taking Roxie on. I don't think I'll be going in until I'm at least averaging ~Lv. 22. No idea what I'm in for in this run, but considering I lost Cordial to a Rattata with fucking Flame Wheel it can't be anything good.

Ecstatic that I caught another Sentret though. Not sure if I'll take her all the way again, considering HMs aren't as prevalent in Gen5, but it's comforting to have Scout ride my shoulder in such a hostile environment.

Wish me luck. I'm about to leave a sea of dead Audino in Virbank Complex.

Gosh, this game is stingy with balls. My options for catches are really tight.
On a different note I'm happy that the game is going quickly, even if it's because the gyms aren't remotely challenging.
Also I hope I can bring Cubone into the team at some point, I like the nickname I gave her.

Jill the Dunsparce has been with me for a long time, but only now makes her Gym debut- in glorious fashion. After taking a Dragon Rage, she strikes Gyarados down with a single Thunder Crit.

It fires a Dragon Pulse as Jill Glares at it.
Jill Roosts off the damage, but then gets Thunder Wave'd. To add saltin the wound, Dragonair's Shed Skin cures the paralysis.
I decide to try to land another Glare, but a Dragon Pulse Crit followed by Jill getting fully paralyzed force me to switch in Pebbledash instead.
She takes a Dragon Pulse on the way in, but Close Combat makes short work of Dragonair.

Another Close Combat takes it out.
>Kingdra
I send Flayn in, and she takes more damage than I expected from Dragon Pulse.
Another Dragon Pulse puts Flayn deep in the Yellow as Strength does less than I hoped.
I send Matilda in on another Dragon Pulse.
Fake Out puts Kingdra down to about half health.
Kingdra scares me with Hydro Pump, leaving Matilda at a mere 17 HP, but Outrage gets the win.

In B2/W2 would you consider the outside and inside of Virbank Complex two seperate areas?

They're separated by a screen, but when catching Pokemon in each area, the met location is "Virbank Complex" for both.

I'm leaning towards a yes, as in one capture between them, but I wanted to know others' opinions before I continued.
