Everyone goes on about how bad SwSh looks, but really the graphics are good, there just was clearly not enough work put into some locations, which made 'em look terrible.
If every location got the same art design effort put in them as the fairy village in the forest from SwSh, I think Sinnoh would look amazing while using the same engine as SwSh.
Notice I'm saying it could be done, not that it will be. I'm still hoping though.

BW UI is for sure not the peak of pokemon UI. USUM is pretty good, but I actually like the sleekness of the SwSh UI. It also has the best UX in a pokemon game as of now. A similar architecture with maybe a bit more gen 4 flair would be the best. It's one of the few areas where I think GF will probably not fuck up.

The BW UI was just okay. Very techy (maybe even too much)
I like the SWSH UI, it’s modern and sleek, but it wouldn’t really work for Sinnoh, it needs a bit more skeumorphism

Just because you say it doesn't make it true anon. The graphical capability of the SwSh is enough to make a very good looking game, this capability was simply not used in many areas, resulting in low-quality textures, models or sparse environments. Those are from a lack of dev time, not a lack of graphics.

I went back to playing Sun and Moon after playing Sword and Shield and I have to say that Sword and Shield look much more cleaner than the pixelated edges that were in Sun and Moon. Gen 8 isn’t perfect but graphically it’s a damn good improvement from 6 and 7 gen.

I sat for three years telling all and sundry why Hoenn remakes wouldn't happen only to get shut the fuck up. Lo and behold, 6 years on there's people repeating the same basic arguments I'd used and ignoring the same critical factor I did (they make money) to screech Sinnoh remakes won't happen. I'm not dying on that hill this time though, I learned after ORAS (and LGPE) if they get a chance to sell an older game to current generation audiences, they will.

The only time this pattern was broken was with Platinum, and even then the year after we got BW. After the Gen 4 remakes we'll get Pokemon Plus and Minus or some shit and then Plus+ and Minus- before Nintendo reveals their next console, or possibly for awhile after said console is released considering that's what gamefreak did with the 3DS and Switch now

Nintendo said Switch was going to be a 7 year system, give or take, which leaves us at 2024 for the new system and Game Freak likely dropping new games for the 30th anniversary like they did with SM for the 20th as first on the new console.

That would be a shame if a game on the Switch looked worse than a game on a 3DS. Though, it's by far the worst thing they could have done on that console. They're not using the capacity of the Switch at all. And that is stupid. SwSh look terribly bad for a 2019 game.
Only gen 1, 2, 5 and 7 used the full potential of the console they were on. Arguably 3. But 4, 6 and 8 could have done way better.

It'll be grid-style for sure. SwSh's world design is the polar opposite of Sinnoh's in every damn way, so trying to mix both would just make people get super mad, while being more expensive and time consuming than 3D-Grids like Let's Go did.

You wanna talk about patterns? In the last two generations, the last release of the generation included "easy way to capture legendaries".

The SwSh DLC adds the Legendary Capturing feature, thus, we can presume it'll be the last game of Gen 8.

Besides, the UB's need to be put in-game too (the newbies can't get OG colour Magearna without them) and they didn't make any noise about them returning for CT either (or hint they would). But they'd fit in a story where the box legends command the fabric of time and space.

There's no shitty rehash coming and only ONE game released, they're absolutely spitting another game out before ending the Generation, even in their meanest Gens, they still put two console releases out, but usually it's three.

Gen 6 was XY and ORAS, Gen 7 was SM and USUM, do not try to fool yourself that LGPE was Gen 7 when it was a Switch game made with their Switch engine that they also used on SwSh.

In other words, there is no reason to assume there will be a DP remake in Gen 8, we are in uncharted territory right now.
