Fact: Game Freak never and never will be good, competent programmers. The games of theirs which are considered best are revised versions or they needed external help like Iwata. Even then they are not impressive for their hardware at all.
You play Pokemon for the brand and habit, not the quality. Game Freak don't even like making them anymore since they ask recruits what kinds of games they would like to make besides Pokemon and started their gear project to prevent burn out. Too bad for them nobody cared about Little Town Hero.
