>>43725779Not him but me and many people I know got into Pokemon in their late teens/young adulthood, and don't necessarily buy every game either, since both Citra and Yuzu work wonders.
It seems to me you were the one who religiously bought every single game while growing up and now feel betrayed and upset and can't help lashing out, mainly to your past self. "How could I let this happen?" you think, "I loved this franchise so much, it meant the world to me, how could this be happening, they.. they betrayed me!" the words escaping your trembling lips as you shake your fist. All those years.. gone, wasted. You feel as if Masuda himself lept through your screen and ripped your heart out. But it couldn't be just you, right? No, no.. everyone else must have felt it too, buying every single game, both versions, then the third, for 20 years giving all your savings to this man who doesn't even know who you are. Even after you grow up, even after getting your first jobs, it all goes to this man, every single cent.
"Haha yes! Everyone must be the same! It's their fault things turned out like this! Not me! Not me! They bought the games! Not me! I'm good, I'm fine, it doesn't hurt!" You look back to your past self, feeling only apathy towards this child, it's his fault, not yours, things turned out like this. This stupid child, this easily manipulated idiot. You want to spit on him, you almost feel like choking him, like how Masuda choked you. You're hurt, you're alone, your childhood was nothing but a lie, all they ever wanted was your money, and now the damage is done, you can't take it back, just watch it crumble before your eyes.
And all you can do
is cope.
