>>43729907I enjoyed it a lot. The story remains untouched, which is arguably the best part of the pmd games. The gameplay got a ton of quality of life improvements. Weedle can randomly bug bite your blast seed and ohko you on the third dungeon, so the danger element of the previous games is still there. It's far from unfair though. You get WAY more information about game mechanics, which makes difficult sections like boss battles and monster houses more manageable as long as you prep correctly.
You can still brute force your way through via overleveling in the makuhita dojo like in the originals, but the grinding became way less time consuming. I'd highly recommend you not using it, since it will completely break the difficulty curve.
Grass type starters are hard mode. Cubone, Skitty and Pikachu are really strong.
