the fifth gen has its amount of awful designs but for every garbodor we had a hydreigon,Escavalier,Haxorus,Scolipede... more than that i honestly think that it was the gen that finaly gave bug type pokemon some credit, and also it was the gen that treated its audience a little more seriously with more mature themes like slavery and the morality of catching pokemons.
