What are /vp/‘s thoughts on the Galar dex compared to previous regions?

I’m not really the biggest fan in all honesty but I was curious as to what everybody else thought about the new guys.

No no, it is terrible, there's no nat dex, and less than 100 new mons, plus it lacks location features to see whether a mon is found in grass, on water, or fishing, as well as a few other features.

Theres a lot of absolute crap just like the majority of vp says, but when I look back at the full dex theres a good amount of individuals my tastes enjoy, and I do really like the fossils.

It absolutely was the opposite. Gen 1-5 were the best, gen 6 was eh, 7 was shit, 8 has actually not been as shit as 6, by just a smidge.

It's by far the weakest in my eyes. Has an incredibly low amount of new favourites, there's so many Pokemon I just don't care for and there are a great deal of designs that made my least favourites. It's just an overall unpleasant dex for me.

Gen 5 has a few gems like Volcarona & Haxorus. But, most are awful.

I completely disagree anon, Gen 5 had fantastic designs, I can only think of Audino with a disagreeable design, meanwhile 7 had pooplio's whole line.

I love it. Gen 8 and 7 have my favorite dexes ever, and I'm someone that started playing all the way back in Red. I feel like overall the designers have reached a point where they really get what is fun about Pokemons, visually. Every other part of the game has declined, of course, but I do love the artwork.
