Showing off a mon from a different gen isn’t necessarily shilling, but Togepi was absolutely the first shillmon. Fucker was everywhere, and girls loved it.

Yeah, and the anime still treats Ho-Oh sightings like a rare symbolic appearance. It's crazy Ash hasn't interacted with it at ALL in comparison to other Legendary Pokémon.
