I'd also like to know some hellish monotype ideas, particularly for USUM. I'm too bad/unlucky to do a Nuzlocke and I'm trying to make my playthrough as rough as possible. While I don't want to pile on too many criteria, it would be cool to try out some of the mons introduced in gen 7 since I hardly know any of them.

If you don't mind waiting out until late game routes or trading, mono Ice in Platinum could be fun. Lots of versatile choices like Abomasnow, Weavile, Mamoswine, and Froslass, all balanced out by Ice's horrible defenses.
Poison in BW2 also sounds fun. You have Drapion, Toxicroak, Scolipede, Amoonguss, and Garbodor for starters. More commonly used ones are Weezing, Muk, and Crobat, but those are still pretty fun in BW2 in particular. BW2 probably has a bunch of other fun monotypes you can do, the dex is pretty huge.
