Regidrago represents the Dark Ages, which means it would have plenty of folklore behind it. Regieleki on the other hand represents the Modern/Digital Age, thus not really giving it any time to build up much folklore behind it. That, and TPCi probably didn’t really care about making it consistent on the site, since all they had to do was say “Regieleki was made when Regigigas decided to smash some particles together to make a deadly light bulb baby.” I’m sure we’ll get lore in-game anyways.

That connection only applies to their theme, not their actual time of creation. The two new regis are located in the same ancient tomb. It should definitely have existed before modern times.
