There's plenty of unbalance, but that's because they keep balancing shit. Dracovish and Clefable wouldn't be issues if Dynamax wasn't banned. Fat balance wouldn't be an issue if Galarian Darm wasn't banned. Melmetal wouldn't be an issue if Dugtrio wasn't banned.
Gamefreak know what they're doing, and Smogon fucks with the balance and bitches about the problems that would obviously arise.
There's a reason why VGC, the only official meta supported by Gamefreak, is never overcentralized like fanfic meta is.
