I've hardly ever seen people ever swear by 1st gen at all, most gens I see where people act like total retards is 2 through 5.

They were driven away after Pokemon GO updated. Plus, the fandom outgrew them. But expect a new breed of LGPE Genwunners to arise in the future.

they exist but they don't lurk here. why would they? they grew up with peak Pokémon, and Pokémon Go came back as a shitty game to paradoxically dwarf the success of all recent gens combined and gave genwunners enough validation to cement their status as the greatest gen

anti-genwunners are mondo-cancer, extremely vocal, and can't make their arguments in the real world (where hard data fucks them) so they circlejerk in their bubbles online. if you live in those bubbles for whatever reason your reality may likewise be skewed
