Competitive battling is the only way to enjoy this series. The anime is for toddlers. The games are toddler level easy, no way to enjoy the main campaign. The fandom is filled with kids most of this board is probably underage. This franchises only saving grace is the competitive scene. Discuss.

It isn't my fault that Gamefreak is stupid and poorly designed the game, if it were up to me I would make that all the mons had 31 IV in everything and let you had the freedom to freely customize the Natures and EVs of your pokemon. You know, like a damn real RPG. What you call ''cheats'', for me is just the equivalent to a patch to fix a game flaw, comparable to those patches that add a run button to JRPGs that are extremely slow and with that the patch let you enjoy the damn stupid game. So yes, with ''cheats'', you can enjoy the damn pokemon multiplayer in peace. And what you call "illegal online simulator", turns out to be one of the best pokemon fangames of all time, better than any official pokemon game, because in GameFreak they are a bunch of incompetents incapable of doing something simple and functional, like showdown.

"competitive" pokemon battles are a fucking joke as there is always a great amount of luck involved, only good battles are the random ones.
Also, watching some shitty 3d models battle on an autism simulator will never compare to actually playing the games.
If you can't enjoy them anymore because you're in your "big boy phase", just play a nuzlocke

That's hardly true. Pokemon at its core is great competitively, it encourages a vast amount of ways to play, you have several characters you can manipulate, gameplay is largely down to skill in a good meta and is based on planning/strategy/synergy, there's no requirement to rely on other humans a la CoD or Overwatch, etc.
It's a unique competitive experience I simply can't get playing any other game. And it's not as if I hate every Pokemon's design, but come on, staring at them all day just isn't fun at all.

And yeah, someone has to try to fix gamefreak trash. Btw, did you know that, in card games tournaments, is it the most normal thing in the world to ban a lot of cards? Do you know how many cards have been banned for tournament of for example Yu-Gi-Oh! ?, and these bans force people to adapt to change and think about new strategies.

RNG adds a lot to the game though.
Accounting for possible hax in your game plan unironically adds a layer of depth, while getting a lucky crit feels good.
Overall a net positive to the game when the obviously obtuse stuff like evasion and OHKO moves are removed.
