He jobbed to someone who didn't put up much of a fight. If N was as tough as Ghetsis or Necrozma then people would be much more forgiving of Alder for losing to him.

He's not really the champion from a gameplay perspective, considering you don't battle him in the main story.
I liked him though, he was an interesting character to bump into and his theme is god-tier

Because he’s not considered a classic champion, i.e. anyone from Gen 1 until 4, nor does he generate bombastic controversy, like Leon.
Oh, and he’s an older male, pretty much a first in a franchise that has young adults and children with the intelligence and maturity of adults as champions and big figures, usually.
