There is no surprise in the first games selling very well, seeing how many people who just want to play Pokemon, want to test the games, buy both copies or didnt even know about the pre-release informations.And seeing how later pokemon games on the same console tend to sell worse (even new generations) i guess we have to wait for the next actual games to see if the Franchise can keep up with more powerfull games. Pokemon being less impressive gameplay and graphical wise was excusable on "weaker" consoles, and the Shitstorm leading up to the release was WAY bigger than usual (even USUM).
I dont even play Pokemon anymore, but underdeveloped games selling this fast is a sad statement and can have an actual negative effect on the whole industry.
>>43771021competition doesnt mean it has to be games of the same genre from other ips. Depending on what you actually look for (Like a game where you can waste a lot of time, an actual challenge, stability, Graphics...) you can see basically every game as competition.
Also IF those game sold like trash because of the Quality of other nintendo games i doubt they would keep pushing it
