from my understanding, the scales on its chest are supposed to function like guitar strings so the air guitaring is intentional. I also didn't play Sword/Shield so I don't know how right I am.

Yeah, vanilla Toxtricity's instrument is explicitly built into its anatomy with those fleshy electricity generating organs on its chest, you can see in-game animations of it plucking at them to generate sound. It's a lot cooler and more natural than forming a literal guitar construct imo, but the g-max is still cool for being more salamander-like.

I was just thinking earlier how neat it would be if they brought back Pinsir’s beta evolution (also thought to be an NGE reference) as a G-max version. Seeing the two duke it would be kino as fuck. Thoughts?
