I like Espeon and Umbreon's evolving methods. It feels more involved than just touching a stone to the pokemon but it's still very simple and you can do it as soon as you want instead of having to wait till GF decides to let me have a certain stone or come across a mossy/icy rock at the end of the game.

I think location-based evolutions would work better in a game that designed to be as least semi-open world. I like the idea of taking a pokemon to some sacred or special place to evolve over giving them an item, especially if I can just buy the item from a mart somewhere, and it doesn't matter if there's wild encounters because Repels are always available, the locations just need to be accessible as soon as the player can get pokemon that need them to evolve.

Umbreon and Espeon should be Moon and Sun stones
Sylveon should be Dawn stone or Shiny stone
They have a dusk stone should there should be a Ghost one,too

I'd like a dragon but GF are never gonna do it in our lifetimes

That's boring. Taking away their unique evolution methods would be awful and against the idea that Eevee is a pokemon who evolves in different ways due to a variety of causes. All they need to do is make sure Leafeon and Glaceon's rocks are available much, much sooner in the game.
