Nothing, because "hurr same building" does not magically make Nintendo give a shit, since all they care about is games selling well. Or do you fucking think they let absolute shite like Mario Tennis Aces and Super Mario Party come out because they love those games?

Also, GF has not been transferred, all of Nintendo's plans for the new HQ were delayed by, you know it, COVID-19. Lmao.

Gamefreak has it the easiest to make an open world type of game out of any franchise. They have designed so many monsters over the years, all they need to do is use them.

The usual complaint about open worl is that it's empty. Pokemon has no reason to be empty.

Nope. They will cut them again for next-gen because next-gen will have another slightly different art and lighting style that will recquire them to re-do character models and re-work the shading map and textures of all Pokemons, again.

Because this is gamefreak, and going with "the way that makes our work harder than it should be" is precisely what they will do.

Actually I wouldn't like pokemon if it was a true open world, I like the game the way it is I'm 24 years old and that's the only game I like to play I recently bought a switch only for SwSh if I wanted something else out of pokemon I would just play other games. So I strongly hope it's not gonna change and still be the game from my childhood!
