>>43803422>>43803467At this point splitting the games in two is the only future I see for gettinga good single-player experience again
Make a $60 Showdown clone for multiplayer battles, and a single-player only game with the focus on the region, story and immersion.
The fact is multiplayerfags will never give a shit about flavour or little things that aid immersion, the game is a number-crunching simulator to them and anything that slows the process down is unecessary fat that needs trimming.
>>43803478The entire 'point' of the multiplayer was to trade a rare Pokemon with some kid in your class in the 90s. To battle you best friend with your favourite Pokemon and see who the better trainer was.
The internet has completely destroyed it. You can get any Pokemon at any time from a thousand strangers from all four corners of the globe but we still have to deal with version exclusives and trade evos for no reason? Multiplayer battling is dominated by metagaming as you grind out against endless faceless strangers over and over again to climb a ladder.
There's no heart to any of this.
