"Saving a lot of data" only occurs if something changed in your Box storage, such as Pokemon being added, removed, or moved around.
This only happens a lot to people who caught a lot of Pokemon or swapped out team members instead of having an HM Slave and/or distributing the remaining 4 HMs amongst the party.
I personally never had issues with it because Bibarel was always rocking my 6th slot and I never used more than a full team since I didn't want to spread experience too thinly or be forced to grind.
