>>43814531Let's be straight here. There is such a thing as toxic online harassment. Pokémon has clearly been on a downward trend in quality for years, and it rightly deserves to receive criticism as every other piece of media does. However, there are people who absolutely ruin the legitimacy of this criticism by acting like total retards on the internet. Great job harassing people guys. Now a smart person would be able to discern criticism from harassment, but Joe isn't the brightest tool in the shed, and neither are fanboys. He claims to be neutral but disregards everyone with legitimate grievances because the people who are blindly positive and won't let the series be criticized aren't the ones harassing him. TPCi also butters him up with gifts and visits and "exclusive scoops". "PokéPositivity" is as toxic as what it claims to be fighting, as it is used to outright ignore all valid criticism and turn a blind eye to any complaints. This is such an obtuse way of thinking and it only serves to make things worse for all of us who want to enjoy Pokémon.
Normally I wouldn't care about Joe, but this guy is basically the head of the English Pokémon fandom, whether we like that or not. Serebii as a website is extremely outdated, it's amateurish, it fails to source properly (saying somebody said something and not linking to it is not a proper citation), and it's missing tons of coverage. A website is only as good as the people who run it, and the bar is very low right now. Not to mention how he keeps bragging about his site traffic. It's like Pokémon getting a sales award. It just means it's popular, not that it's good.
