I'm in the camp that still loves him dearly but is aware that all his pandering is getting a bit out of hand. Still, that's GF's doing and isn't Charizard's fault, so no reason to hate the guy imo.

Only forgettable starter out of the original trio. Without the anime he’s nothing, literally Meganium tier. Typhlosion and Blaziken are easily more compelling designs

On its own I'm fine with Charizard, I just like Blastoise and Venusaur more. But I think it's a pretty likeable Pokémon.
The main issue is the disgusting amounts of shilling.
