How will this thing survive without HP fire? Corv can outspeed it and run Body Press, while things like Scizor and Ferro wall it or can run fighting coverage.

Nah, Magnezone has 115 base Defense. It'll get 2HKO by Body Press at best, and 130 base Sp. Attack + Thunderbolt will definitely OHKO Corviknight.

This. Corv is clean OHKO'D by a Specs set and can't outrun Scarf. It can't invest heavily into speed or else it's weaker to other stuff or has a less effective BP in the first. It'd like people running speed investment on Hippo and Tox just so Melmetal didn't destroy them with DIB, ignoring that it made them worse against everything else.

I wonder what the magnezone-skarmory dynamic will be now. Mag only needs thunderbolt for skar, but skar now has a 80 BP fighting move coming off the equivalent of 140 base attack. Will skarmory run heavy duty boots and enough speed to always have its sturdy intact and 2hko magnezone, or will magnezone simply not be as good as it was last gen? will skarmory compete with corviknight or is skarmory also not as good as it was previous gens?

If you put magnezone in after Corviknight gets a kill you can bet most players won’t even try to switch out. Imagine testing magnet pull by switching in something that can’t survive thunderbolt/s, bringing corviknight back in because you can outspeed and body press, whiff the kill, and die to thunderbolt.

Even with a Life Orb it's still a OHKO. And even with NO boosting item it's a near 50/50 shot and 75% after rocks. Magnezone without HP Fire absolutely loses to Scizor. There's no question.

Scizor always got Superpower, of which bulky Mega sets don't even typically run. Very rarely would you hard switch into Mag on one. You'd typically run a Volt-Turn core and pivot around until it's weakened/a free switch is had. You just have to be more careful playing around it, just like the A-Golem vs Excadrill match-up.

Corviknight needs to use Jolly w/ 200 Spd EVs (which slashes into its bulk) to outrun Timid Magnezone, but with HP gone, I don't see Magnezone being super popular unless the people who play Galardex OU hate Corviknight THAT much.

If Corv and Skarm get to dominant, Mag will rise back up to OU. Once they stop being used as much because of the Magnezone Zone, it'll drop down to UU, possibly even RU.
