If they were that fussed about the implications of attacking a human then they could've just made her invincible and have the fight end once you've defeated her entire team. Let her fire off a Sludge Wave or something every now and then, give her something to do other than wave her tentacles around and squawk at you.
And give her actual AI like every other competent trainer. She quite literally has no AI in the Ultra Space fight. What was the point of that?
