This is what you have to expect from a mainline game with Doubles.
Notice how little synergy there is. Tate and Liza's mons are immune to Earthquake (their only spread move, I should add), and they use Light Screen instead of Amnesia, but still pretty bad.
Raihan's team doesn't even look like it's built for doubles beyond having one spread move, which thankfully doesn't hurt allies. The most synergy is that none of his mons are hurt by sand.
If this is how little thought they put into double battles with important trainers when they're rate, imagine how little thought they'll put into double battles when every battle in the game is doubles.
