>>43832541It may have something to do with how, for lack of a better word, template-heavy so many supporting cast pokemon characters often are. I don't really want to take away from any of the characters featured in this thread, but it's almost futile to deny that there isn't a somewhat substantial amount of overlap among them, at least when it comes to reflective baseline personalities and dispositions (almost in a flow chart manner even it comes to emphasis on defining adjectives like relaxed, refined, confident in work/roles, self-conscious about age, stern about self-control, etc); and most tend toward some aspect of motherhood.
However, the benefit to these easy-come templates is that can still serve as springboards for further development (as evidenced in either the plot proper or in so much passing headcanon conjured up by admirers), and it also lets people focus more on designs than how a character might really act. We end up with a plethora of vaguely similar and equally endearing women, yet each still possesses her own merits. This isn't so much to devalue anyone's potential favorites, but it's more to the idea that we can have a thread like this, with such a nebulous premise, yet end up amicably appreciating a number of individual characters who share certain qualities.
