You're literally performing the exact same task hundreds if not thousands of times to get a Pokémon with a slightly different color palette (and some of them look like utter garbage too), not to mention that shinies are easily hacked so you can't even brag that much about it. At least with competitive battles you can enter a tournament and get some money. Shiny hunting has no purpose whatsoever and I'm surprised that some people are so fucking delusional that they call shiny hunting "content".
