GSC generated a lot of hype, that’s true, but considering it followed gen 1’s massive success and the anime’s, that’s not really a fair comparison seeing as Pokémon lost its soul in gen 6. The most exciting Pokémon related news since GSC was definitely when DiaPer got leaked and confirmed, and then again shortly after when HGSS was revealed
