Mediocre stats across the board. Tries to be bulky despite having far too many weaknesses. STABs are walled by Steels. Far too slow. Movepool (support or offense) are extremely limited, and other Grass-types can do what this Pokemon tries to do but better.

It's not awful in lower tiers. It has some bulk and some decent moves. Not every pokemon is destined for OU. There aren't a ton of viable grass types aside from terrain setters and ferro who is good because of its steel type. Appleboi is def usable in UU and RU IMO.
