"Being able to hit Gastrodon" is not going to be useful for Inteleon, since nobody is going to be threatened by a monster that dies to spread damage from Hyper Voice or Discharge or Rock Slide. He will stay a shitmon.

Dont mistake my disdain for gen 8's starters as praise for Gen 5's.
Both are trash, gen 8 is simply worse.
For the record, the only gens that I wouldn't box the starter on, are 1, 2 and 6

Inteleon, best case scenario, has 290 hp during Dynamaxing. Basic shitty spread-damage hurts him hard anyway. He is already a shitty monster right now, and being able to hit Gastrodon is not going to change that. He is not even a good Sniper gimmick user since Kingdra is coming back and Kindra is much less fragile PLUS has Hurricane now.

Inteleon was shit, and will get shittier.

That would be fine if there was some other significant theme to Serperior, but there isn't. Venusaur grows a flower/tree on ots back. Meganium grows a flower around it's neck. Sceptile grows a bush on its tail. Torterra grows a tree on its back. Serperior just gets bigger and loses its limbs. Easily the worst grass starter to date.

Irrelevant, because Inteleon won't be raising his speed with Airstream, because he will be either already dead or dying due to have all of the bulk of a baby Pokemon. Besides Hurricane's delicious part is the 110bp with 30% chance of confusion while being able to hit people Bouncing for stalling, a perk it would lose dynamaxing.

Irrelevant, Gyarados has power-whip that can OHKO Gastrodon on the spot (while Inteleon has to hope his attack crit, because he didn't have time to use Focus Energy due to being too fragile to set it up safely) and Mimikyu in VGC will go down in use instantly thanks to Cinderace getting the ability to delete it in one single hit with his Gmax.

If it were as shit as you're claiming it wouldn't be giving Gyarados competition at all, but clearly it is. The point is to get dynamaxed damage fast and quickly, shutting down potential counterplay, and the Gmax will help with that. It's already pretty high up in usage for doubles right now, so top players must be doing something you aren't thinking of or accounting for.

But sure, just cover your ears and go "lalala no its a shitmon" and making up scenarios.

It had an usage spike due to the HA just coming out and this "new toy usage spike" was only able to get it up to measly fucking 30. You will not find a "top player!!!" getting real results with him, specially not after the DLC brings in even more monsters that do his only (badly done) job better . Try to find a single top player making use of Inteleon, and you won't, because it's flat out bad. It is so bad that Wolfey literally had to post a joke video where Inteleon is useless because even he was unable to make any good use out of it even though he -wanted- to.

Yeah, this is probably the most overall "GOOD" starter trio in terms of usability overall. None of them is woefully underpowered and despite Ace clearly being the darling of the devs, the other two are both pretty good both in Dubs and Singles and will only continue to get better. Not only is there a small chance one of them might reach Ubers, but the other two will definitely also be UU or above. Overall it would be the strongest starter trio.

Many pokemon are bereft of good typing, movepool, or stats. All inteleon is missing is movepool. It's pretty dogshit now, but many actually unsalvageable pokemon would kill to be in its position, considering gamefreak is much kinder about giving pokemon moves than they are about buffing stats.

If we're counting them with their hidden abilities (which we should because we rate Cinderace and Rillaboom based on their HA's), Serperior is great.
I'd say the worst starter trio is gen 2, the only starter trio where not a single one has been in OU or relevant in VGC in their entire history.

I like running soak inteleon in doubles with a Rillaboom. Got some fun games where I ohko a Gmax Corviknight and Duraladon who thought they were safe to stay in.

Plus inteleons speed and SPa make him a decent threat, and with focus sash + torrent he was able to really do some damage. I like all 3 starters this time around despite not liking their designs initially.
