What upgrades would you like to see in future gens, based off the systems we already have?
For me:
Pokemon have two active abilities.

Trapping moves and abilities now prevent switching from U-Turn and Volt Switch from taking effect. The moves themselves still damage, however.

The terrain have an impact on the battle
- no digging on water
- reduced speed on ice/mud, save for pokemon suited to it
- reduced accuracy at night or in caves, save for nocturnal/cave pokemon
And get rid of the pop up messages that slow the battles down

Switching now deals damage equal to one layer of Spikes.
Stealth rock no longer applies type effectiveness.
