>>43860173Yea. They're really solid remakes. Even if they change some small stuff for the worse, the games at a lot more than FrLg really did. The biggest Boon is that kanto is actually an entire region now, the routes have WAY more trainers, those trainers now also offer their number for rematches, pretty much all of the dungeons are back and are arguably the best they've ever been, the levels are way higher (For trainers) and so on. Also, not even including the BF there's a lot of meaningful postgame. The way you obtain gym leaders phone numbers might be a pain, but seeing them living their lives around the 2 regions really feels great, and the safari zone is great too imo, just be patient for some of the rarer mons, but there's plenty of non rare one's to get while you wait and plenty else to do. Also pokeathelon and voltorb flip are fun time sinks, pokeathelon especially feels really nice and a good way to bond with your bros.
Really, it's all up to you if you like these things, but my point is the games feel like they're bursting with loads of stuff to do at all times so it's a really good game to kinda just immerse yourself into and relax, it's good for different reasons than a lot of other pokemon games really.
If you're asking if you should play despite already playing crystal then I say yes, it feels like they really brought gen 2 to a modern system and it just feels like a whole different experience to me
