>>43869590Maybe the game could force start from scratch in every new region. Every region's Pokemon league is its own thing (maybe you can make an argument against Johto+Kanto), so one of the rules should stop you from using Pokemon in that region that you used in a previous region. Maybe some rule like any Pokemon that you used in a gym/E4 in region X cannot be used in any gym/E4 in any other region until you have become the champion of that region. But that leaves a bunch of boundary cases and probably doesn't fully enforce the rule. In the strictest sense maybe the PC could lock you out from withdrawing Pokemon you caught in another region until you clear it.
