also, i think if you're not understanding why SWSH is bearing the brunt of all the resentment, you're not familiar with the history of the last 3 generations being continual disappointments
- XY were the first 3D mainline games. not great. but the excuse was hey, at least all pokemon are 3D modeled, and we put a lot of work into futureproofing the models so the series can last forever :)
- SM werent great. please understand, we were asked to rush to complete them in time for the 20th anniversary
- LGPE isnt for you, you're not the target audience. but SWSH is goiing to be everything you want in a pokemon game!
basically, SWSH was being marketed to us as the game where all the "IOUs" GF had written to us in Gen 6 and 7 would finally be paid off with interest. they kept telling us they'd pay us back soon, dont worry, and finally it's obvious they never will. it's around that time any sensible person grabs a pipe and gets ready to bust masuda's kneecaps
