Jesus Christ, I cannot express just how infuriating it was to see him ambush me every single town and route doing that stupid action pose and demanding another battle, sometimes more than once per location. And then he repeats the same fucking super effective and/or critical hit tutorial text in every goddamn fight even though he said them in every other fight before this one. Sometimes just seeing him ahead was genuinely enough to make me turn off the game for the day. He got better in the second half of the game, but that first half was enough to make me despise him too much to enjoy him when he got better.
