Between nostalgia and warnings from other, more avid anime viewers, I don't think I'll ever enjoy anything more than the original series (especially the Dub with it's silliness adding to it's lovely quirks.)
I've seen chunks of Advanced and DP and while not bad, it's writing style and general world building are incredibly different. (Mostly because TPCI wanted it to have broad appeal so they sanitized it to relate to everyone around the world.) I can't say without watching the whole seasons whether it's more enjoyable or not though.
I've heard good things and bad things about the more traditional seasons, so I'm a little worried it'll be mostly eh but with some good moments in between.
I've also heard that SM and PM are another step in a different direction, both in writing and art style, and not having seen any of it (Outside of Brock and Misty's returning episode) I can't say much on it. I like that it's experimenting in it's art style with more fluid animation but I don't think it'll ever surpass that vintage 90s anime aesthetic with hand-drawn cells over watercolor backgrounds, but that was already gone by the time Advanced started.
