Legendaries/Mythicals are the worst part of Pokémon. There should be two per gen. Half of them are horribly designed. Having 20 each gen is lame and defeats the purpose.

Doing what's been done since B2W2 is fine. Add a new main trio, a 2-3 mythicals, and maybe a side trio. Reuse the old legends to pad the postgame a little and still have the hype of catching rare Pokemon in a cool location.

Ive always found it a lame and inconsistent part of Pokemon. Moreso the more they try and push the interconnectivity of Pokemon.
'This Pokemon is super duper special and limited only you, 10 year old Timmy, have this unique and one of a kind Pokemon.' Oh and also every other person you'll come into contact with online and also there's like 50 'one of a kind' Legendaries so they're not all that special

I personally just dislike that many newer games give you access to just about all the legendaries of previous games. you'd think they'd avoid doing this to produce bigger sales for previous games but in reality you usually only need one game to get every legendary pokemon.

I think B2W2 did a good job - a lot of side legendaries were included, but not box legends, and they were all incorporated into the region instead of just thrown into the game.
