I didn't buy either but IIRC it's something like,
Gigantamax gives a specific move which replaces their STAB, and the Dynamax using a regular (strong) Fire move deals more damage than the Gigantamax version due to the scaling.

That, or it has to do with the secondary effect you get when using a Dyna/Giga move.

Also this. Charizard is fast and frail, but unlike more Dynamax Pokemon you can get out a guaranteed amount of damage even if you're KO'd after using one move. Not even including the direct damage, it does 8/24ths of the enemy team's total HP and does it in a way that's almost impossible to avoid. That's absolutely massive.

Gmax Zard saw more use before the solar power variant became legal, since Coalossal is way more versatile (speed control) and hits just as hard with WP.
