I mean I will be worse though, playable, but it won't capture the same charm and it will be an easier watered-down experience.
Personally though I'm not a fan of the remake culture in general for games. More often than not the original still holds up and the remakes don't add enough to incentive me to buy it again. The only Pokemon remake I've bought was FRLG as a kid.

i dont see how this is an argument with gamefreak in particular
none of their remake versions are "watered down", and the incentive would be the much older gen, and it definently is much older, with the added features of the current gen we're in
frlg isnt watered down, hgss isnt watered down, oras, though not "good" is not good because rse was not "good"(people seem to glance over this part)
i have basically no doubt that a dppt remake would be good as long as they dont blatantly put their worst dev team into the directing seats, but why would they?

which is a weird opiniom because all pt did was touch up on the rougher edges of dp so it would be pointless unless you think somehow the giratina part of the story wont be in the remake, that would be my only concern

Gamefreak is the worst dev team though, they are completely incompetent and that is why it will be watered down.
Besides the definitively easier game that will come from the new exp share the biggest issue is just that Gamefreak can't make 3D games to save their life. I do not have faith in Gamefreaks ability to capture the snowy tundra of Sinnoh after seeing the victory road in SS. I do not have faith in them being able to include meaningful optional areas after seeing how much of a straight line the last two gens were. In the case that they make a 1-1 remake like LGPLGE that still leads to the issue of it being an unnatural looking recreation and ever less worth my time since I have already played the game before. I lastly just do not have faith in them adding any meaningful new content to make it worth my time.

Different director with a stated different vision for the franchise. Morimoto was focused on side-game content and jamming as much in as possible, Masuda is focused on streamlining the experience and his approach is more cinematic.

And... How is the game being older bad, what feature are you even talking about? DPPt is still perfectly playable, do you just want the character in 3D? Just play masters there is no current gen content which would add to the experience in any meaningful way. Replace poffins with curry? The terrible exp share? The only thing I could see adding that would be beneficial is Trainer customization.

you could just say you blame your lack of trust on how gen 8 is but i think that is just a bad talking point, the content is already existant for dppt, they dont have to make up something new like galar so it would just be a rescaling, and galar objectively is the best looking pokemon game in 3D
