The game actually looks good in the trailer guys and the pokemon feel like they're actually alive, as soon as I saw the graphics and animations I knew it was too good to be isle of armor lol

Whether it's an RPG or not is irrelevant to his point though. In fact given the ability to actually look in a different direction in Snap, compared to the fixed camera of most of SwSh, the argument could be made that the "rail shooter" has more freedom of perspective and still looks better than the fixed perspective RPG.
The whole set piece argument is actually almost the inverse of what people are saying here.

Both are literally games with limited exploration and limited camera controls. Hell, Snap has more camera control options. Performance-wise, I'd say Snap is more demanding.

holy shit, they're meeting almost all my expectations with this one. people have been asking for it for years, they deliver, it looks good, looks better than the mainline games, and looks like a faithful successor to the old one? my only quibbles are that at this point the apple shouldn't just vanish in mid air, and this would have been a perfect time to do some free roaming safari island exploring stuff (or at least free roaming segments) but damn, i'm 95% satisfied with this.

It is going to be a re-imagining of the first game. It will play a lot like the original game, but the courses will be a bit more stretched out; there will also be more hidden paths. It will have more Pokémon come out, but a lot of them will be time exclusive. It will tie in with your system's time, so there will be day and night cycles. Different Pokémon will come out during certain parts of the day. There will also be random weather forecasts kind of like sword and shield. You can get Pokémon with hidden abilities from Professor Oak if you fill of a meter of corresponding Pokémon you snap pictures of. You can transfer the Pokémon to the home app.

Probably not, most people here are teens or at best are in their early twenties and Snap never got ported to anything else so unless someone had an older sibling or parent who showed it to them odds are only older dudes like us will have actually played the original twenty fucking years ago.
