Said it before and I'll say it again, Gamefreak doesn't care about balance until long after the current gen is over, and they have no idea how to rebalance either (Talonflame, Dark Void, etc.). They legitimately think people will use pokemon the way they do on their casual company tournaments. Like how they were shocked at special Aegislash being a thing.

It's basically random for them.

I thought it was just based on which one they want to market the most, hence why Greninja and Incineroar are good competitively and why the MC in the anime had their starter line, but I guess not. Imagine Primarina with Swift Swim or Water Bubble or if Intelleon had a variation of Sniper that slightly increased his crit chance.

I don't even like Intelleon that much compared to Cinderace, but it literally got nothing compared to Cinderace and Rillaboom lmfao.

At first I only liked Cinderace, but all three have grown on me. My only issue is that Rillaboom actually carries around a drum when they could have made it that his chest is his drum, like actual gorillas.

Grass priority with Stab and Terrain. Don't forget many were running choice scarf to hit first with Wood hammer. Now many will run choice band. Say what you want about grass offensive but with choice band that's gonna hit hard for a priority move.

I kind of felt the opposite. I liked Inteleon and Rillaboom at first with the leaks, but Cinderace took a bit to grow on me until I saw its sig move and what it actually looked like outside of grainy shots.
