This post right here is literally the shit I was talking about a while ago. Pokemon fans have no fucking priorities. Having the full dex would simply seal the deal for some, having your Pokemon follow behind you in a janky ass manner would do it, simply bringing back the battle frontier would do it. This franchise is so bloated with shit people selectively care about/don’t care about that gets removed and added back that some of you can’t even stay on the same damn page.

I actually don’t care if you enjoy the game. The point I’m trying to make is that the complaints made here won’t always line up with the shit other people complain about elsewhere. Some don’t give a shit about certain features, while some do. That’s why I mentioned bloat there’s no general agreement on which features matter most and a certain features are just enough for people to care.

Like, you can't fucking defend this. It looks so fucking horrible and plays so fucking bad. It was done well in fucking LGPE. But, because it's there, people will go "OHHHHHHHHH BUT FOLLOWING POKEMON ARE THERE ARE YOU HAPPY THAT'S WHAT YOU WERE ASKING FOR 10 YEARS COPE SEETHE DILATE" and now we can't have any more meaningful dialogue on it.
