>>43916988There isn't, but there may have been once before. In the base game Piers hints that they can shut down a gym if the leader is too weak. In-game, it's cause he doesn't use Dynamax and that's why there's a possibility of his Dark Gym being closed by whoever runs the things.
Maybe the Gym typing rotates? Like, if they find that Piers isn't strong enough they'll pick a new trainer that specializes in a specific type.
